This talk page is for discussing improvements to Philip Gargantos Armstrong.

I believe Gargantos comes from Gargantua. Is it worth trivia note? Kiadony 16:29, April 6, 2010 (UTC)

I'm not so sure. We are pretty open with the trivia around here, but I'm not sure that this is the source of his name. Even if Gargantua is the origin of the word gargantuan, I can't really see a connection between Philip and the Rabelais character aside from the fact that they both have a son. It may just be that the modern meaning of the word appealed to Arakawa when choosing his name. Or are you suggesting that "Gargantos" is the name of the character in another language? Well, yes, I meant that it most likely comes from gargantuan, which in turns comes from Gargantua... Heh. Even if Arakawa wasn't aware of the word's origin. Then, pointing out that Gargantos comes from gargantuan would be too obvious, right? Kiadony 17:07, April 6, 2010 (UTC)
