The Last Battle (最後の戦い, Saigo no Tatakai) is the 107^th chapter of Fullmetal Alchemist.

Chapter Notes

• On the splash page of the chapter, the word "Alchemist" is misspelled as "Alcemist".
• In the group picture on the cover page, those who are close to the characters but not actually present for the final battle themselves (Maes Hughes, Fu, Jean Havoc, Buccaneer, and Winry Rockbell) are seen extending their hands out from off-screen. Among these is also Solf J. Kimblee, despite the fact that he was an antagonist. There are also two more soldiers in the bottom left corner who don't seem to be based off any named character. The one in blue seems to represent a regular soldier from Central City while the one in white represents a regular soldier from Briggs. Each of the named off-screen characters hold a trademark accessory.
  • All of the named characters off-screen are dead except for Winry and Havoc, and Winry is the only of that group who hasn't been injured in any way.
  • The characters who shouldn't be present seem to be subtly acknowledged that they aren't supposed to be there. Breda and Fuery look noticeably surprised at Havoc's presence, Maria Ross, looks back in surprise at Kimblee, and the two men beneath Buccaneer's automail look up at him.
  • Hughes in the top right corner holding a picture of Elicia.
  • Fu in the center right wearing his gauntlet.
  • Havoc in the bottom right corner holding a cigarette.
  • Winry in the center bottom holding a wrench.
  • Buccaneer on the left with his Crocodile M-1913A automail.
  • Kimblee on the left holding his white fedora.
• Pinako Rockbell's hair can be seen to the right of Winry's arm.
• At the end of the chapter, Edward says to Father "get up you third-rate fraud. I'll show you there's no comparison between us!" This is a reference to the end of the first chapter when he says "come down and face me you third-rate fraud. I'll show you there's no comparison between us!" to Father Cornello.
