Bobby is one of the skilled engineers who maintain the vital Fort Briggs in working order under the command of Major General Armstrong.

When some of the other engineers begin to hear strange sounds in the large pipelines on the lowest level of the fort, Bobby is called to offer his expert opinion and correctly deduces that the sounds are not coming from within the pipes but from beneath the fort's foundation. He narrowly escapes danger when the homunculus Sloth bursts from the ground.
