Baschool (ばすこうる - also known as Buzcoul) is an abandoned mining town in the northern area of Amestris, east of Fort Briggs. It is in this town that Solf J. Kimblee's team—which includes the Elric brothers, Darius, Heinkel, Zampano, Jerso, Winry Rockbell and a platoon of Briggs soldiers led by Major Miles—begins its north area search for Scar. Over the course of the day, Baschool finds itself the scene of several battles between Scar, the Elrics and several members of Kimblee's personal squad and is also the entrance to the winding maze of mining caverns through which Winry Rockbell makes her escape from Kimblee's custody.
